How Do You Respond To Fear?

Overcoming Fear

One evening, when I was 9 years old, my mother asked my brother and I if we would grab the iron board out of her room. Of course we went up together because…I mean common, it was dark! When we walked into her room, we noticed that not only was the window open, but the curtain was blowing back and forth with the wind. But that’s not what my brother and I saw. We saw a window that clearly was opened by a burglar who was beginning to enter our house. Let’s just say we scurried out of that room (ok, more like sprinted while screaming at the top of our lungs).

Fear is an emotion we typically associate with kids. Yet, fear is always (and will always) be a part of our lives. How do I know this? Well, have you ever said “no thanks” or stopped yourself from doing something you really wanted to? Of course you have! Here is the great news…everyone has at some point in their lives. Remember, you are not alone and there is no reason to be embarrassed or feel weak.

The most important item to overcoming fear is awareness. When you become aware of the fear that is holding you back, then you have the power to IGNITE yourself to squash it. When you become aware of your fears, you have the power to MOTIVATE yourself to take action. When you become aware of fear, you have the power to ACTIVATE the talent and skills to overcome any obstacle.

Be The Change The World Needs by overcoming your fears now!
